PORTopera's 2008 Dinner/Dance & Auction
"Romance & Revelry in Fair Verona"
A festive fundraiser to celebrate and support the 2008 production of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette


Friday, May 9th, 6:30PM - 11PM
Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks - Casco Bay Room

The Cocktail Hour will begin at 6:30PM with passed hors d'oeuvres, complimentary wine, and cash bar,
after which attendees will be treated to a few arias by some of the USM School of Music’s
brightest and best voice students, organized by Ellen Chickering, PORTopera’s director of
the Maine’s Emerging Artists program, and accompanied by Aaron Robinson.
Frank Reilly will act as Master of Ceremonies

At around 8:00 pm, a sumptuous northern Italian dinner will be served,
and the band will begin with dinner music.

Shortly after 8:30, there will be a Live Auction conducted by John Locke. Exciting items include:
*Walk-on roles in PORT's production of Roméo et Juliette
*A Yangtze River Cruise for two
*Gourmet Dinner for ten
*A trip for two to the Metropolitan Opera
*A commissioned portrait
*Cooking lessons in a gourmet chef’s own kitchen

The Bob Charest Band will play for dancing until 11PM.

An extra-special offer is being extended to young lovers. One table of eight is being reserved for couples age 35 and under
